WWE Summerslam 2007 Results

Kane vs. Finlay
Hornswoggle and the shillelagh were involved in the match. No Jaime Noble though. Kane won with a chokeslam I believe. I missed the end, but I know that Kane won.
Me: 0/1
Dave: 0/1

Interpromotional Diva Battle Royal. The winner will be the No.1 contender for the WWE Women's Championship.
Michelle McCool v. Kristal Marshall v. Victoria v. Torrie Wilson v. Cherry v. Maryse v. Kelly Kelly v. Brooke v. Layla v. Beth Phoenix v. Mickie James v. Melina v. Jillian Hall v. Maria

When I changed my pick on Saturday I was torn between Michelle McCool and Beth Phoenix as my new pick. I ended up with McCool. I should have picked Beth Phoenix. She won and did so looking great if I do say so myself.
Me: 0/2
Dave: 0/2

Triple Threat match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship
Umaga (c) v. Carlito v. Mr. Kennedy
It looked like Kennedy was actually going to win, but then got laid out by a Samoan Spike. Umaga wins and keeps the title.
Me: 1/3
Dave: 0/3

Rey Mysterio v. Chavo Guerrero

Rey looked horrible. He looked like he took himself off of the 'juice'. He had a bit of a belly and looked significantly less defines than when we last saw him on TV; he looked like he was bloated. During the match he looked to get extremely winded. The camera would occasionally show tight shots on his face and his eyes lloked really 'weepy' as if he was half-asleep and half-crying. He came out with metallic silver tights and mask. The rest of his body, including his face underneath the mask, was painted silver like the woman in Goldfinger was painted gold (a little 007 reference for Dave). The thing was that the paint was uneven and looked streaky and like it had drip marks. He won though. An extremely lackluster return for Rey, but I'm not a huge Rey fan to begin with.
Me: 2/4
Dave: 1/4

ECW Championship
John Morrison (c) v. CM Punk

An okay match. Morrison won.
Me: 2/5
Dave: 2/5

World Heavyweight Championship
The Great Khali (c) v. Batista

One of Khali's better matches. Batista won after Khali hit him with a chair. After the match Batista got some revenge and beat Khali with the chair. It was a win-win situation. I made the right pick and the belt stays off of Batista
Me: 3/6
Dave: 3/6

Triple H v. King Booker

Triple H looked like he was trying too hard to duplicate the aura of when he came back from his first quad injury. It looked a little forced. He looked a little different than he did before he was sidelined. He looked a little slimmer and a little younger. A total contrast to the way that Rey looked. He won the match. After the match he kept doing his signature pose over and over and over. I think that perhaps he didn't get the same earth-shattering ovation that he did after his first comeback and was hoping that posing would get the crowd more into it. Also, as he was walking back up the aisle he was doing something that I can't recall seeing him do ever before - slapping hands with the fans.
Me: 4/7
Dave: 4/7

WWE Championship
John Cena (c) v. Randy Orton

A typical Cena match. And by that I mean that he won. It looked like Orton would pull out the win, but Cena hit an F-U out of nowhere to pick up the victory and keep the WWE Title. This feud will likely continue. Of all of the matches that I got wrong this one was the most surprising.
Me: 4/8
Dave: 5/8

Totals
I got half of the matches correct with a total of 4/8 right while Dave beat me by the slimmest of margins by guessing 5/8 correct. Here I had predicted that all 3 Titles would change hands and as it turns out none of them did

Other Stuff
Stone Cold made and appearance on the show. MVP came out and challenged Matt Hardy to a beer drinking contest. Hardy came out and said that since MVP had a substitue in the boxing match on SNME that he (Hardy) could have a subsitute for the beer drinking contest. Austin then came out and gave MVP a stunner.

Although McMahon's son's indentity wasn't revealed there was a segment backstage where Vince was in his office and Coach brought in someone that Vince thought could shed some light on the bastard child's identity. It was Mae Young. As it turns out she didn't know anything about Vince's son, but instead wanted to have a bastard child with Vince. She then tackled him onto a couch and began to make out with him. After Moolah managed to drag Mae out by the hair (literally) Vince got up in disgust. After complaining about the taste that Mae left in his mouth he then got happy and said something to the effect of "The oldest chickens make the best soup.".

Vince, Teddy Long (whose face would look great on that dolla, dolla bill), Coach, and Regal were back in Vince's office. Cryme Tyme then came in and said something to Vince. I don't recall what they said, but it led into a 'Money, Money, Yeah, Yeah' chant. Then Cryme Tyme, Teddy Long, and Coach kept circleing Vince and Regal while continuing the chant. Vince and Regal then looked confused. JTG put his baseball cap on Regal and after a little hesitation Regal joined in the celebration. He then started doing some strange dance. When he turned around Ron Simmons was there to deliver his signature line, "Shee-it, Bee-itch". Oops, I mean "Damn!".

WWE Summerslam 2007 Predictions [Updated]

It's the 'Biggest Party Of The Summer', Summerslam and as expected I am here to offer up my predictions and as usual I am joined by Dave. In honor of Big Vis' gimmick and name change I am adopting a nickname for this edition of Wrestleblogger predictons. I will be known as Big Daddy J and accordingly Dave will be known as Little Daddy D.

Kane vs. Finlay
Big Daddy J Says:
This is a throwaway match for me. I have no interest in the outcome of the match. I am not particularly a fan of either of these two. It seems as though the WWE is trying to build this feud. It's just not doing anything for me though. I am predicting that Hornswoggle will likely get involved prompting Jaime Noble to get involved too. While the referee is distracted by them Finlay will lay Kane out with the shillelagh and get the win. I wouldn't be surprised to see Kane get the win though.
Little Daddy D Says: Somehow, someway Finlay seems to have an amazing record against monsters (Generally because he's good at bonking people with his shillelagh). I see Finlay winning this one.

Interpromotional Diva Battle Royal. The winner will be the No.1 contender for the WWE Women's Championship.
Michelle McCool v. Kristal Marshall v. Victoria v. Torrie Wilson v. Cherry v. Maryse v. Kelly Kelly v. Brooke v. Layla v. Beth Phoenix v. Mickie James v. Melina v. Jillian Hall v. Maria
Big Daddy J Says:
I am writing this before I have seen Dave's picks, but I am assuming that he will be picking his 'honey', Melina to win. Since Candice is part of the RAW brand I have to wonder what will happen if a non-RAW Diva wins. Will Candice move to another brand to help build-up to a PPV match? Will the winner of the battle royale move to RAW to help build up to a PPV match. Or maybe the match will take place at next week's RAW. Who the hell knows? Let's start determining the winner in true Wrestleblogger style by eliminating the people who I am fairly certain won't win. I should preface this by saying that I am operating under the assumption that there is a possibility that the WWE would take the title off of Candice at this point, which isn't set in stone. Let's start with 4 or my favorite Divas - Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly, Brooke, and Maria. There is no way that any of them will be getting the title any time soon although I think that McCool is the most talented of the bunch. Next we have Maryse, Cherry, Maryse, Layla, and Kristal Marshall. They've had a combined 1 WWE match in the past year and that's a liberal guess. They aren't winning. That leaves Victoria, Torrie, Beth Phoenix, Mickie James, Melina, and Jillian. Torrie doesn't have a nude pictorial to promote so I can eliminate her. Beth is still a little too new to the WWE so I can throw her out too although I would have a small amount of interest in seeing a match between her and Candice down the road. Victoria's chances aren't good either so she's getting bounced too. Jillian is already over a lot so there's no need to put the belt on her. That leaves Mickie and Melina. Candice and Melina had a really long feud so the WWE needs to move on. Mickie is my pick.
Update: I am changing my pick for this match. I have elected to instead go with one of my favorite Divas, Michelle McCool. She seems to be getting a push as of late so I am predicting that she will be getting a shot at the title, but I certainly don't think that she will be winning the belt. I am getting a sense that she may be turning heel since her new "Lovin' Life" seems a bit like a heelish goody-goody character. If McCool doesn't win I am fairly confident that my original pick, Mickie James, will win the battle royale.
Little Daddy D Says: Christ, you gotta be fucking kidding me. Fine, I'll go with Melina.

Triple Threat match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship
Umaga (c) v. Carlito v. Mr. Kennedy
Big Daddy J Says:
First off, Kennedy is going to turn out to be Vince's son. It's pretty much a lock. I am not sure if that will be playing into the outcome of this match though. I still see Umaga keeping the title (and winning) although I will admit that I am going out on a limb considering that Kennedy will be part of the McMahon family. Since Kennedy will turn out to be Vince's son I see bigger plans for him. More on that later.
Little Daddy D Says: Alright, it's time to start giving Mr. Kennedy a major push. He just LOOKS like an Intercontinental champion. I give this one a near guarantee

Rey Mysterio v. Chavo Guerrero
Big Daddy J Says:
Well, let me see. I wonder who's going to win. Rey will win of course. Any wrestling fan with a brain can see that he will win. If the WWE wants to pull a swerve they should have Chavo win the match, but I know that they won't. Rey win. 'Nuff said.
Little Daddy D Says: Wake me up when the match is over. I used to always pick Rey because Rey ALWAYS won. The he became champ and his win loss record went into the crapper. This is his big comeback. He cannot lose.

ECW Championship
John Morrison (c) v. CM Punk
Big Daddy J Says:
It's only a matter of time before Punk wins the title. I was tempted to predict him to win the title at the last PPV and I'm tempted even more here. Especially since's it's the second biggest stage in the WWE, but there is a tiny part of me that thinks that Morrison is finally starting to get some decent momentum back that he had when he was part of the IC Title picture on RAW. It's like his wheels where just turning in place for most of this year and that he's finally getting some traction. The WWE has a rich history of giving pushes to new wrestlers/characters and then killing their momentum in an instant. I'm going with the history here. Punk wins the match. Could it be a DQ win? Sure, but they really need to give him the title if they are going to give him the win. I wouldn't go as far as to say that Morrison's momentum will be totally stopped with a loss here though. After a couple of rematches I think that Punk and the ECW Title will move on into a feud with Big Daddy V.
Little Daddy D Says: I see Johnny Nit... er... Morrison keeping the title.

World Heavyweight Championship
The Great Khali (c) v. Batista
Big Daddy J Says:
I would really like to see Khali keep the title for at least one more PPV cycle. I'm not just saying that because I don't like Batista either. I think that Khali needs to be given more time to help become the major heel that Vince and the bookers thinks that he can be. He's not going to get the time though. It was only a matter of time before Batista got the World Title back and it's going to happen here.
Little Daddy D Says: Khali was always just keeping the title warm. Batista will regain the belt.

Triple H v. King Booker
Big Daddy J Says:
As with the Rey/Chavo match this is a no-brainer. There is no way in hell that Triple H is going to lose in his big return match. Just like when Triple H tore his quad (the first time) there was a huge build-up to his return. When he came back he already had such huge momentum that he promptly won the Royal Rumble and went on to win the championship at Wrestlemania. This time it will basically be the same. He will defeat King Booker and then go on to win the WWE Title.. Forget for a moment the WWE Title and Triple H's injury. Pretend that he had never gotten injured and that this was just a normal feud. Back when Booker was drafted to RAW there were numerous reports that Booker was against leaving Smackdown. He reportedly said two things that were notable. The first being that he would have quit the WWE if he had been sent to ECW (This statement had been making the round on the Internet within the past few weeks since Booker has publically repeated it) and that he didn't want to go to RAW because it was 'too political'. This of course was a shot at Triple H. Does anyone think for one second that Triple H would job to someone who took a jab at him? Of course not.
Little Daddy D Says: King Booker will win in a... oh whom I kidding. Triple McMahon will win and book himself against whoever holds the title which will be.....

WWE Championship
John Cena (c) v. Randy Orton
Big Daddy J Says:
Judging by Cena's win/loss record this year alone I would pick Cena for sure. Especially after reading that his win/loss record this year has reached 100-15. If this was a normal feud I would pick Cena, but with Triple H coming back the title needs to be on a heel. Especially a heel whom he has a history with - Orton. I am picking Orton to win the match and the title. I think that Kennedy will interfere on behalf of Vince for what went down this past Monday on RAW. This will then start a Cena/Kennedy feud.
Little Daddy D Says: I would have gone with Orton.... my heart says Orton... I much prefer Orton and if each wrestling match was fought in a vacuum I would pick Orton but Triple Push is back and he needs a face to go against. He has never worked an extended set against Cena so I see Cena winning and starting a feud with Trips.

Summary
Big Daddy J Says:
Finlay, Mickie Michelle McCool, Umaga, Rey, Punk, Batista, Triple H, & Randy Orton
Little Daddy D Says: Finaly, Melina, Kennedy, Rey, Morrison, Batista, Triple H, & Cena

Final Thoughts:
It was a bit hard to make my predictions for this year's Summerslam. There are so many possible future angles and rumours flying around on the Internet. All of which effect my picks. There's the one that I am relying on which has Triple H pushing for an Orton win so he (HHH) can feud with him and get the title. Then there's the one that says that once Kennedy is revealed to be Vince's son that the WWE will finally acknowledge that Triple H is Vince's real-life son-in-law and develop a feud between the two although that angle may take place later in the year. Then there is the possibility that Kennedy will win the IC Title with Vince's help and then go on to cause Cena to lose thus beginning a Kennedy/Cena feud, but an IC Title feud is probably beneath Cena at this point. The rumours go on an on and on.

I will try to post the results on Sunday, but most liekly they will be posted on Monday.

TNA Hard Justice 2007 Predictions

First off, I really don't care about anything that happens at this PPV or in TNA for that matter. I'll try to be as brief and painless as possible.

Bar Room Brawl
James Storm vs. Rhino
I Say:
I don't care. You think I care? Well, I don't. I'll go with Rhino.
Dave Says: Storm.

Humiliation Match
Robert Roode (w/Ms. Brooks) vs. Eric Young
I Say:
I'll pick Young to once again get over on Roode. No matter who wins I am sure that the humiliation will be having to dress up in some rediculous costume. Either that or the loser will have to re-sign with TNA or watch a video of their own matches. How humiliating!
Dave Says: Eric Young.

Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal vs. The Motor City Machineguns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) (w/Kevin Nash) vs. Triple X (Christopher Daniels, Senshi and Elix Skipper)
I Say:
Is this a 2 on 2 on 3 match? I'll go with the 3 and say Triple X wins. Besides that they have more members, Triple X also happens to be one of my favorite types of movie.
Dave Says: Triple X

Raven vs. Kaz
I Say: I'll guess and say Kaz.
Dave Says:
No pick. Match wasn't announced when Dave made his predictions.

Chris Harris vs. Dustin Rhodes
I Say:
I am curious to see how much of a rip off of Goldust Dustin's rumored new character, Black Reign, will be. Dustin is my pick. Is it possible that Rhodes could show up to the PPV in blackface? I'm pretty sure that like everything else in TNA, Dustin's new gimmick will be drawn out over 3 or 4 months with the gimmick evolving over that time period to a very unwatchable ending. One last thing - Was the origin of this feud ever get explained?
Dave Says: No pick. Match wasn't announced when Dave made his predictions.

The Latin American Exchange (Homicide and Hernandez) vs. The Voodoo Kin Mafia (B.G. James and Kip James) (w/Roxy Laveaux)
I Say:
I have no clue. I'll say LAX wins. Christy Hemme and that guy I think she's still managing (Lance Hoyt?) will cause VKM to lose. BTW, that Roxy girl's gimmick looks to be a rip-off of Boogeyman's. She stole his whole trance/convulsion gimmick. Yeah, I know that Papa Shango did the same thing too, but he was WWE as Boogeyman is so it's not a rip-off.
Dave Says: VKM

Doomsday Chamber of Blood Match
Abyss, Andrew Martin and Sting vs. Christian's Coalition (Christian Cage, A.J. Styles and Tomko)
I Say:
What the hell is up with all of these stupid gimmick matches in TNA. It seems like there's a new kind of gimmick match introduced at each PPV. It's not only that though. There are so many sub-stipulations to the damn matches that it's impossible to understand. In all fairness, the WWE does introduce new matches too, but not nearly as often as TNA. My pick for this match is Christian's Coalition due to interference from James Mitchell's new monster going after Abyss.
Dave Says: Christian's Coalition (Christ, what a name)

Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon) vs. The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott)
I Say:
Since I have never been a big fan of the Steiners so I will pick Team 3D. That's not to say that I am a big fan of Team 3D at this point though. I expect the Steiners to wrestle as poor as ever. The Steiners could win drawing out the feud I am going with 3D anyways.
Dave Says: Steiners

TNA World Heavyweight and IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle vs. TNA X Division and TNA World Tag Team Champion Samoa Joe
All 4 championships are on the line.
I Say:
TNA is killing Kurt Angle. They are making him look like a total fool. He's becoming a joke at this point. I don't care if the whole gimmick is Angle's idea. Jarrett and TNA management have been around the business much too long to allow it to get to this ridiculous point. The whole thing with him running around backstage in his underwear is just plain stupid. I'm not going to get into it all right now, but just know that it's really stupid what they are doing to Angle. The only thing redeeming about the whole angle is Nash's involvement. He's pretty funny and is entertaining. As for this match I think that Angle's wife will turn on Samoa Joe and help Kurt win. Even if she doesn't turn on Joe I think that Angle will still win. Angle will then have all 4 titles.
Dave Says: Angle

Total
I Say:
Rhino, Eric Young, Triple X, Kaz, Dustin, LAX, Christian's Coalition, Team 3D, & Kurt Angle.
Dave Says: Storm, Young, Triple X, VKM, Christian's Coalition, Steiners, & Angle

Final Thoughts: Nothing major here, but I just wanted to say how stupid it is for TNA to bring in Pacman Jones. It's just a ploy to get attention from the media. Sure, it will happen at first, but then everyone, including the fans, will quickly lose interest. Jones is reportedly will focus on tag team wrestling which will likely mean that Jones will see very limited, if any, in-ring action. Sure, the WWE get's celebrities, but at least they get legit big names like Trump and Tyson. TNA gets people like Pacman Jones, A.J. Pierzinski (sic), and Dale Torborg.
