WWE Cyber Sunday 2007 Results

WWE Championship: Randy Orton (c) vs. TBD
Fans will vote on Orton's opponent: Shawn Michaels, Jeff Hardy, or Mr. Kennedy

No surprise here. HBK won the vote. It was also announced that the two men who didn't win the vote would have a match against each other. As for the title match Orton forearmed HBK in the balls when Shawn was going for a superkick. HBK wins by DQ.
Dave: 1/2
Me: 2/2

Jeff Hardy vs. Kennedy

Kennedy won. This match will help continue their feud which will likely end with Kennedy getting an IC Title run.

ECW Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. TBD
Fans will vote on Punk's opponent: Big Daddy V, Miz, or John Morrison

In what was probably a phony result Miz was announced as the winner of the fan vote. If the fans really did vote him it I am sure that it was a goof. Punk won the match.
Dave: 1/4
Me: 3/4

World Heavyweight Championship: Batista (c) vs. The Undertaker
Fans will vote on the Special Guest Referee: Mick Foley, Steve Austin or John "Bradshaw" Layfield

As Todd Grisham was preparing to announce the winner of the fan vote JBL interrupted him which prompted Foley to come out. Grisham that announced that Austin won the vote. Austin then came to the ring and eventually got rid of Foley and JBL. After numerous powerbombs and spinebusters Batista finally beat Undertaker.
Dave: 3/6
Me: 5/6

Triple H vs. Umaga

Fans will vote on the match type: Street Fight, First Blood match or Steel Cage match.
The fans voted for a Street Fight which makes sense in hindsight. Triple H won the match and after the match wasn't moving his left arm similar to the way Cena did when he tore his pec so Triple H may have been injured.
Dave: 4/8
Me: 6/8

Rey Mysterio vs. Finlay

Fans will vote on the match type: Stretcher match, Shillelagh on a Pole match, or No Disqualification match.
Stretcher Match won the fan vote and Rey won the match after the finish got screwed up a little when the stretcher got tied up in some cables that were at ringside.
Dave: 5/10
Me: 7/10

Matt Hardy vs. Montel Vontavious Porter
Fans will vote on the match type: Boxing match, Wrestling match, or Mixed Martial Arts match
It was announced that Matt Hardy wasn't cleared to wrestle after what happened at Smackdown. Hardy then informed MVP that he would have to fight either Kane, Mark Henry, or Great Khali in a US Title match - The fans had to vote. Kane won the vote and the match when MVP got counted out.

Divas Halloween costume contest
The contestants: Maria, Mickie James, Melina, Jillian Hall, Lilian Garcia, Victoria, Torrie Wilson, Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly and Layla

The way that this worked was that throughout the night the divas were shown backstage in their costumes and the fans at home got to vote during the show for the winner. Mickie James won for her Native American costume.
Dave: 5/11
Me: 7/11

I picked all of the matches correct for the 2nd time ever and second time in a row. I didn't get all of the fan votes right though. I also didn't pick the correct winner of the costume contest either. Dave also did fairly well only missing one of the actual matches.

WWE Cyber Sunday 2007 Predictions

The WWE likes to say that the fans have the power for this PPV, but make no mistake about it - The whole voting thing is a load of crap. The worst enemy of wrestling and live TV in general is things not going according to plan. In other words, the WWE is not going to allow something that's not predetermined to happen at a PPV. If the fans really did have a legitimate impact on the PPV that would mean that the WWE writers would have to come up with 3 times as many ideas and match layouts. Most of the time it seems like the WWE writers can barely come up with 1. I not really going to believe the voting results. I am sure that the WWE already knows what the results are going to be.

WWE Championship: Randy Orton (c) vs. TBD
Fans will vote on Orton's opponent: Shawn Michaels, Jeff Hardy, or Mr. Kennedy
Dave Says:
The first part is easy. Shawn Michaels will face Randy Orton. The bigger question is who will win. Shawn Michaels has now superkicked Orton three weeks in a row on RAW which means it's likely Orton's chance for redemption. I also have to add that Shawn Michaels is well past his prime at this point and when he runs to the ring he looks very stiff. I don't think he ever fully recovered from the back injury he suffered years back. I see Orton winning and retaining the title.
I Say: I agree with Dave. There is no way that HBK will not win the vote. He will probably win by more than a 2 to 1 margin over the other 2 combined. The only reason that Hardy and Kennedy are in the voting is because they want to use the 'campaign' to build up towards their upcoming feud. I really don't see Shawn winning the belt, but he will win the match. Look for an Orton DQ.

ECW Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. TBD
Fans will vote on Punk's opponent: Big Daddy V, The Miz, or John Morrison.
Dave Says:
I'm going to assume John Morrison will get the title shot and since at lease one champoinship will change hands at the PPV so I'll go with the ECW bels. John Morrison regains the title.
I Say: I expect to see Morrison win the voting, but I can't see Morrison regaining the title so soon after returning from a steroid suspension. C.M. Punk wins.

World Heavyweight Championship: Batista (c) vs. The Undertaker
Fans will vote on the Special Guest Referee: Mick Foley, Steve Austin or John "Bradshaw" Layfield
Dave Says:
The iron clad lock of the PPV is Austin being the referee and I assume he'll influence the match. Undertaker will likely give Batista a beatdown before somehow pissing off Austin and receiving a stunner. Batista wins thanks to Steve Austin (who then stunners Batista).
I Say: This fan vote is the hardest to pick. It's either Foley or Austin. They are both extremely over, but I suspect that Austin will edge out Foley by a slim margin. No matter if Austin wins or loses the voting I also suspect there will be some sort of interaction between him and Santino. As for this match I think that Batista will get the win although I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Undertaker come out on top since I think that there is a chance that JBL could interfere to cost Batista the match.

Triple H vs. Umaga
Fans will vote on the match type: Street Fight, First Blood match or Steel Cage match.
Dave Says:
Steel Cage match will win and Triple H will win. Why do a first blood match because I'm sure blook will be flowing anyway.
I Say: Steel cage will win and so will Trips, but I see a reasonable chance that Umaga could win.

Rey Mysterio vs. Finlay
Fans will vote on the match type: Stretcher match, Shillelagh on a Pole match, or No Disqualification match.
Dave Says:
I say No DQ match with Mysterio winning.
I Say: This will be a no DQ match. Finlay gets a surprising amount of wins, but Rey gets a rediculous amount. Rey wins the match.

Matt Hardy vs. Montel Vontavious Porter
Fans will vote on the match type: Boxing match, Wrestling match, or Mixed Martial Arts match
Dave Says:
Wrestling match. Hardy wins.
I Say: Neither of these guys know how to box so I think we can rule that one out. The last thing that the WWE is going to do is put two untrained guys in the ring to have a legit fight. That would be stupid so I am ruling that out as well. That means that they will have a wrestling match. I think that yet again Hardy will win.

Divas Halloween costume contest
The contestants: Maria, Mickie James, Melina, Jillian Hall, Lilian Garcia, Victoria, Torrie Wilson, Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly and Layla
Dave Says:
ummm.... errrr. Hello? Torrie Wilson ALWAYS wins. I think it's in her contract.
I Say: I am shocked. Dave didn't pick his honey Melina. He must not have seen her name listed. I guess that the Internet fans don't vote in this match. Maybe the fans will vote online after the event and the winner will be announced on RAW. I will go with Jillian. Just kidding. I say that Michelle McCool will win.

Summary
Dave picked:
Shawn Michaels/Randy Orton, Morrison/Morrison, Austin/Batista, Steel Cage/Triple H, No DQ/Rey, Wrestling Match/Hardy, & Torrie.
I picked: Shawn Michaels/Shawn Michaels, Morrison/Punk, Austin/Batista, Steel Cage/Triple H, No DQ/Rey, Wrestling Match/Hardy, & McCool

TNA Bound For Glory 2007 Results

Here are the quick results from TNA's Bound For Glory PPV.

Christian's Coalition defeated Team Pacman (Pacman was replaced, but was at ringside. Pacman's replacement was a guy using an Apollo Creed gimmick)
Samoa Joe defeated Christian
Sting defeated Kurt Angle to win the title
LAX defeated Triple X
Gail Kim won the Battle Royale to become the first TNA Womens Champion
Lethal defeated Daniels
Steiners defeated Team 3D
Eric Young won the Battle Royale
Abyss won the Monsters Ball match.

I picked 3 matches right. I couldn't care less how many I picked right.

I finally received Dave's picks today. Yes, he sent them AFTER the PPV. He too picked 3 matches correct. They were Jay Lethal, Steiners, & Abyss. Also, David did not send a pick for the Tag Team Title match.

TNA Bound For Glory 2007 Predictions

Here are my predictions for TNA's answer to Wrestlemania - Bound For Glory. I really have zero interest in this PPV, but have decided to post my predictions anyways. Although I made perfect picks for last week's No Mercy WWE PPV (As did Dave) I couldn't care less if I did the opposite for this PPV and got all of the matches wrong. It looks like Dave will not be contributing picks this time. I sent him the match listing, but I never received his picks back. Maybe he wants to leave on a high note and let his perfect pciks for No Mercy be his legacy. If I get them between now and the PPV I will try to post them.

TNA World Tag Team Championship
Team Pacman (Adam Jones and Ron Killings) (c) vs. Christian's Coalition (A.J. Styles and Tomko)
I Say:
Can you hear the echo? I predict that Team Pacman will be in the b*tch with the terror. They'll have a hand full of stack so you better grab an umbrella (Those familiar with the song 'Make It Rain' by Fat Joe and Pacman's activities during this year's NBA All-Star Game weekend will get the reference). Seriously, this is a handicap match. It's basically Christian's Coalition vs. Ron Killings. Sure, Pacman may get tagged in, but he won't be taking any bumps or sending any significant time in the ring. I get the feeling that Killings and Pacman will remain champs for a little longer so I am picking Team Pacman to win.

Christian Cage vs. Samoa Joe w/Matt Morgan as Special Enforcer
I Say:
Samoa Joe will win.

TNA World Heavyweight Championship
Kurt Angle (c) vs. Sting
I Say:
I couldn't care less. Hmmm...I'll say Sting wins.

Ultimate X match - Winners receive a future shot for the TNA World Tag Team Championship
The Latin American Exchange (Homicide and Hernandez) vs. Triple X (Senshi and Elix Skipper)
I Say:
Triple X will win since the Ultimate X match is probably their specialty.

Ten Knockout Gauntlet battle royal to crown the first TNA Women's World Champion
Participants - Christy Hemme, Gail Kim, Ms. Brooks, Jackie Moore, Roxxy Laveaux, Shelly Martinez, O.D.B., Angel Williams, Talia Madison, Amazing Kong.
I Say:
Aren't all of these women pretty much WWE rejects? Well except for Ms. Brooks, Roxxy, and Kong. I actually think that at least one of these women (O.D.B.) is still affiliated with the WWE and their developmental system. Kong's size obvioulsy makes her the favorite as far as hype so she definitely won't be winning. Alos, I don't see TNA giving the belt to a newcomer, so I am picking Gail Kim. I don't know why though.

TNA X Division Championship
Jay Lethal (c) vs. Christopher Daniels
I Say:
Lethal's novelty value is pretty much gone. Daniels is my pick.

Two out of Three Falls Tables match
Team 3D vs. The Steiner Brothers
I Say:
Team 3D

16 Man Fight for the Right Battle Royal - Winner receives a future shot for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship
Robert Roode, James Storm, B.G. James, Kip James, Lance Hoyt, Jimmy Rave, Chris Harris, Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, Kaz, Eric Young, Petey Williams, Junior Fatu
I Say:
I am assuming that TNA bookers have enough brains to have the winner of this match actually have a serious chance of becoming the TNA Champion. Unfortunately, that's not possible since none of these guys are World Championship quality. At least not the kind that the fans would take seriously. I'll pick Roode.

Monster's Ball match
Raven vs. Rhino vs. Abyss vs. Black Reign
I Say:
Intersting fact - Abyss and/or Raven have been in every other MB match in TNA history and neither of them has ever won it. For that reason I am not going to pick them. I will pick Rhino.

Summary
Team Pacman, Samoa Joe, Sting, Triple X, Gail Kim, Daniels, Team 3D, Robert Roode, & Rhino.

WWE No Mercy 2007 Results

WWE Championship Situation
Vince came out with Coach and repeated what he said on ECW - That Cena had suffered a pec tear and that he would be out for up to a year. Vince then once again announced that a new WWE Champion WOULD be crowned. He then introduced the new WWE Champion - Randy Orton. Vince told Orton that he (Orton) could pick his opponent for the night. Orton then cut a promo saying that he there was no one in the WWE that could match up to him (Orton). Out came Triple H (Here we go...). Triple H then challenged Orton to which he replied 'No'. Vince then interjected to tell Triple H that Orton said no. Triple H then started to make fun of Vince to the point that Vince said 'Your On' and called for a ref right then and there. A ref then came out and Triple H beat Orton in a semi-short, but decent match with a rollup to become the new WWE Champion. Triple H was later shown in the back recovering when Vince came in and told him that his match with Umaga was still on and was going to be for the title. Triple H went on to beat Umaga later in the night. Later on while Triple H was recovering from the match with Umaga Vince came in and told him that Orton was invoking his rematch clause later in the night and the match would be a Last Man Standing match. The LMS match was pretty good except for the terribly slow 10 counts. During one of the 10 counts Triple H didn't make it to his feet, but the ref pretended that he had beat the count and the match continued. There were several near finishes until Orton RKO'd Triple H on the announcer's table. That time Triple H couldn't make it to his feet and Orton regained the WWE Championship; his second title reign of the night. I think that it was a good move for them to further cement him as the top babyface on RAW (or WWE) at this point and to have him fall short at the end of the night by having Orton go over him. There is one thing that I don't like about the whole thing - The fact that it kinda reeks of the stunt that TNA pulled with having Angle wrestle thrice in one night. Other than that I think it was pretty good last-minute booking. I could go back on my word and give myself a point for a correct pick since I said that Orton would walk out with the title, but I won't.

Punjabi Prison match for the World Heavyweight
Championship
Batista (c) vs. The Great Khali

In a surprise move both guys climbed both cages albeit very, very slow. Both men crossed over the top of the outer cage at about the same time. Khali cimbed down, but Batista kinda jumped/fell down (while still holding on loosley). Batisat touched first to retain the title.
Me: 1/1
Dave: 1/1

Triple H vs. Umaga

As I stated before, Triple H won.
Me: 2/2
Dave: 2/2

ECW Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Big Daddy V

I wasn't paying attention, but I know that BDV got DQ'd.I think Striker interfered. No Morrison though.
Me: 3/3
Dave: 3/3

Finlay vs. Rey Mysterio

Who gives a shit what happened? I don't. Rey won.
Me: 4/4
Dave: 4/4

WWE Women's Championship
Candice Michelle (c) vs. Beth Phoenix

Beth won and then cut a post-match promo about the beginning of the age of the Glamazon.
Me: 5/5
Dave: Didn't make a pick. 4/4

I DID IT! I DID IT! PERFECT PICKS! I KICK ASS! 5 OUT OF 5! Oh Yeah, Dave got perfect picks too. He only got 4 out of 4 right though so I did better. If I would have given myself credit for the Orton win I would have gotten 6 out 0f 6. What I should do is hold Dave to his Cena pick so he wouldn't have perfect picks. I could also throw out Punk's win since Dave didn't know the actual match when he made his prediction. I could give Dave an incorrect pick for the Women's match since he probably would have picked Melina eventhough she wasn't going to be in the match. So he should get a 3/6 to be honest. I will be magnanimous (sic?) and give Dave the 4/4, but I reserve the right to change my mind later.

One last thing. Kennedy and Cade & Murdoch defeated Jeff Hardy and London & Kendrick in a 6-man tage match. It looks like Kennedy may be starting a feud with Jeff Hardy and perhaps on his way to getting Hardy's IC Title. Also, Matt Hardy and MVP continued their competitions by having a Chicage Deep Dish Pizza eating contest. Hardy won be eating 2 slices in 2 minutes compared to MVP's 0 peices in 2 minutes. After the match MVP accused Hardy of cheating and Hardy 'puked' all over MVP's white tracksuit.

WWE No Mercy 2007 Predictions

Let's get to the usual stuff - It's Wrestleblogger predictions and I'm joined by Dave.

WWE Championship Match
I Say:
Before I go further I just want to say that Dave sent me his predictions before either of us had learned of Cena's legit pec tear from RAW and being stripped of the title (and when the PPV was only 5 matches). I'm going to post his original prediction anyways. On to me. This injury has come at a horrible time. Actually it's never a good time for your top guy to be sideline for up to a year. Mark my words though when he comes back he is going to get a HUGE push. I promise you that. As for the WWE Championship, It's kinda hard for me to make a prediction since no details are available as to how the new champion will be crowned at No Mercy, but a new champion WILL be crowned as Vince said on ECW. The logical way that the WWE could go is to make a match between the man who was challenging for the title and the man who 'injured' Cena - Kennedy. At this point the WWE isn't labeling Kennedy at the man who injured him though. In fact the WWE looks like they may be labeling Orton as the one who injured Cena during that post-match beatdown, but it's obvious that Cena was injured during the match. As I have stated in other posts, it's only a matter of time before HHH gets the title back so they may just fast forward the plans and make the match a 4-way with the two wrestlers that I stated before along with HHH and his NM opponent, Umaga, and then just have HHH get the title that way. I doubt that will happen though. I am assuming that the match will be Orton v. Kennedy with Orton taking the title. For the record I was going to pick Orton to get the title before Cena got injured. Since nothing is known about the WWE Championship at this point, the pick for this match is not going to be held against me. One last thing - There are rumors going around that Chris Jericho could make his return at NM and somehow walk away with the title. That's doubtful if you ask me.
Dave Says: I'd love to see Orton get the title back but Cena is on such a roll right now. *ugh* that I don't see him losing the title in anything less than a major PPV which No Mercy isn't.

Punjabi Prison match for the World Heavyweight
Championship
Batista (c) vs. The Great Khali
I Say:
I've read rumors that Edge may return at NM and interfere in the match. The rumors state that since Edge is pictured with a chainsaw in the Survivor Series poster that Edge will interfere in the Punjabi Prison match by sawing through the bamboo. Believe it or not, I don't think that that possibility is that far off-base. No matter what happens I think that Batista will keep the title. I don't think that either of these guys can climb a cage. Let alone a bamboo cage. If you recall the only other Punjabi Prison Match that the WWE has held was Undertaker v. Big Show. Big Show replaced Khali in the match due to him having to be pulled out during that period that all of those WWE wrestlers had unusually high kidney enzyme levels. In that match neither of the participants had the ability to climb the cage and the only reason that Underatker won was because the outer cage was broken open as opposed to being scaled.
Dave Says: WOW. Another Pajabi Prison match!!!! This is gonna be *snore*.......Batista wins

Triple H vs. Umaga
I Say:
If this match takes place (see WWE Championship Match above) I think that Triple H will win. It's that simple.
Dave Says: A handicap match huh? HHH vs one measly human being? This is not a prediction of what will happen. This is what will happen. HHH will get a 10 minute entrance. After the match starts Umaga will beat on HHH for awhile because HHH is a team player and wants to put over young talent right before he pummels Umaga and beats him down with a sledgehammer. I expect Vince will get involved somehow. One websight I went on had a better matchup for Triple H at the next WrestleMania. Trips vs all the WWE tag teams and a tank. Triple H would win but not without working hard. Triple H wins this one.

ECW Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Big Daddy V
I Say:
I have to admit that I am more interested in seeing a Punk v. V match that I am in seeing a Punk v. Dreamer or Burke match. They need to keep the title on Punk a little longer than just one month. I think that Morrisson will interfere, but that Punk will still keep the strap.Probably by DQ. I am assuming that Dave agrees (he made his pick when it was Burke or Dreamer) so this match will still count against Dave if he gets it wrong. On the brightside, He will get credit for it if he is right.
Dave Says: CM Punk

Finlay vs. Rey Mysterio
I Say:
This match is stupid. Rey Rey will will win win.
Dave Says: With all the hype that WWE gave Mysterio I don't see him losing and even though Finlay has a pretty darn good win loss record I still see him as a glorified jobber. Mysterio wins.

WWE Women's Championship
Candice Michelle (c) vs. Beth Phoenix
I Say:
Beth will get the title this time. I promise.
Dave Says: No Pick, but he'd probably say Melina.

I hear that the Undertaker/Kane v. Matt Hardy/MVP match that is scheduled for next week's Smackdown may be pushed up and will instead take place at Mo Mercy. If that happens I Say that Hardy and MVP win.

Summary:
I Say:
Orton somehow gets the title, Batista, Triple H, Punk, Rey, Beth Phoenix, & Matt Hardy/MVP.
Dave Says: Cena (Yeah Right!), Batista, Triple H, Punk, Rey, & No Pick
