WWE No Way Out 2008 Results

WWE Championship: Randy Orton (c) vs. John Cena
During the match Orton was outside of the ring and appeared to be injured. Instead of counting the ref jumped out of the ring to check on him. Orton then kept yelling "count me out!". Cena then jumped out of the ring to throw Orton back in and got RKO'd. Orton then crawled back in and waited for Cena to get counted out. Cena made it back in just in time though. After staring each other down for a little bit. Orton nailed the ref. The ref called for the bell to DQ Orton and awarded the match to Cena despite Cena's pleas for the match to go on. A very predictable move by Orton.
Me: 1/1
Dave: 1/1

Elimination Chamber match (Raw): Umaga vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Triple H
The winner will receive a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania XXIV.
Nothing really special here. It came down to Hardy and Triple Haytch. They ran a poll before the match and for some reason the fans picked Hardy to win the match, Why are so many people picking Hardy? I didn't though and I was right because Triple H won and is going to WM24 to take on Orton and match Cena too.
Me: 2/2
Dave: 1/2

Mr. Kennedy vs. Ric Flair
If Flair loses the match, he must retire from wrestling.
Flair wins by submission. Big Surprise!
Me: 3/3
Dave: 2/3

Elimination Chamber match (SmackDown!) Batista vs. The Great Khali vs. Finlay vs. Montel Vontavious Porter vs. Big Daddy V vs. The Undertaker.
The winner will receive a World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania XXIV.
In what turned out to be the match of the night it came down to Batista and Undertaker. Taker wins and is going to WM24 to challenge for the World Title. This was the best Smackdown branded match I have seen in a very long time.
Me: 3/4
Dave: 2/4

World Heavyweight Championship: Edge (c) vs. Rey Mysterio
Early in the night they showed Rey backstage and acknowledged his torn bicep. He even showed it and it his arm looked a little deformed. Rey promised to go through with the match. He also was greeted by boxing champion Floyd Mayweather backstage before the match. More on that later. In the match Edge won. It's that simple.
Me: 4/5
Dave: 3/5

ECW Championship: Chavo Guerrero (c) vs. CM Punk
Chavo retains.
Me: 5/6
Dave: 4/6

Total
I win by 1 match. I almost got it perfect.

After the Edge/Rey match Rey was shown at ringside being helped by the WWE trainers. Big Show's music then started playing and Show came down in what seemed to be a very jovial mood and was showing off his weight loss. He then got on the mic and told the fans how good it felt to be back in the WWE. He then promised that he would once again become a champion. Towards the end he seemed to be distracted by Rey at ringside. To prove to the fans that he would once again dominate the WWE he got out of the ring and grabbed Rey by the neck. He then pulled Rey over to Mayweather, who was sitting ringside to cheer on Rey, and taunted him. Show then went back into the ring with Rey and was about to chokeslam him when Mayweather jumped the barricade and went to save Rey. Show and Mayweather had a staredown until Show pushed him away and then got on his knees so they could be eye to eye. Mayweather then delivered a quick 4 punch combo to Show's face. The punched looked totally real and I think that they really were. After delivering the punched Mayweather and his entourage ran out of the ring, back over the barricade and to the back. Show tried chasing them down, but was stopped my Shane McMahon. Show's mouth and nose were extremely bloody which is why I think that the punched were a 'worked shoot'. I haven't looke it up online, but I'm pretty sure that Show's nose is broken. It looks like it's Big Show and Mayweather in some sort of match at WM24.

WWE No Way Out 2008 Predictions

Ok, Here we are once again with another edition of Wrestleblogger predictions. After skipping the Royal Rumble David has decided to join me once again to offer up his predictions as well.

WWE Championship: Randy Orton (c) vs. John Cena
As the Royal Rumble winner, Cena won a shot at the title at WrestleMania XXIV. However, Cena decided to challenge Orton for the title before WrestleMania.
I Say: There is no chance that Orton walks out without the title. I really want to say that Cena will win (by DQ or something) since this is his first real match back on PPV, but on the other hand I think Orton will look bad going into a WM title defense coming off of a loss -- unless it's a Triple Threat match with Cena (with the title) and the winner of the Elimination Chamber. It's tough, but I will go with Cena to win. Probably by DQ or countout. I see the outside chance of a draw too.
Dave Says: Cena wins by DQ.

Elimination Chamber match (Raw): Umaga vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Triple H
The winner will receive a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania XXIV.
I Say: Going off of the prediction that Orton will be champ at WM I am assuming that the winner of this match will be a 'face. That eliminates Umanga and JBL. Jericho just had a feud with Orton so I doubt that they will restart it now. Same thing with HBK. He just had a feud with Orton not too long ago. As for Hardy, he is not going to main event WM unless it's part of a 3-way match with 2 other 'real' main eventers. That leaves Triple Haytch. He wins it and goes on to headline Wrestlemania...again.
Dave Says: Jeff Hardy

Mr. Kennedy vs. Ric Flair
If Flair loses the match, he must retire from wrestling.
I Say: Flair is not having his last match at No Way Out. Flair wins and goes on to WM24 to end his career with a loss to Shawn Michaels.
Dave Says: Flair

Elimination Chamber match (SmackDown!) Batista vs. The Great Khali vs. Finlay vs. Montel Vontavious Porter vs. Big Daddy V vs. The Undertaker.
The winner will receive a World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania XXIV.
I Say: Big Daddy V isn't winning. Neither are Khali, Finlay, or MVP. That leaves Batista and 'Taker. I still believe that Batista was supposed to win the Rumble until Cena re-emerged. He gets his WM title shot here. Sorry Undie. However, for each of the past couple of years it's been reported that Undertaker would be retiring at that year's WM, but with Ric Flair likely retiring at this year's WM I don't think that this will be Undertaker's last WM. Maybe it will be next year.
Dave Says: Batista will win.

World Heavyweight Championship: Edge (c) vs. Rey Mysterio
I Say: I read that Rey may have torn his bicep or pec on the current international tour. I was going to pick Edge before I found out about the injury so there is absolutely no way that I change my pick now. Edge wins. This is all assuming that the match still goes on as planned (which is in some doubt at this point).
Dave Says: Edge.

ECW Championship: Chavo Guerrero (c) vs. CM Punk
I Say: I haven't watched ECW in a little while. I want to see Punk win, but they really need to establish another top-level (ECW-wise) guy for the brand. If not Chavito, then who? Chavo wins.
Dave Says: Ooooh Chavo.

Summary
I picked: Cena, Triple Haytch, Flair, Batista, Edge, & Chavo
Dave picked: Cena, Jeff Hardy, Flair, Batista, Edge, & Chavo
