Wrestlemania 24 Results - THIS IS IT!! THIS IS IT!! THIS IS IT!!

Raw/SmackDown/ECW 24-Man Battle Royal
Winner gets a ECW Championship shot the night against Chavo Guerrero.
This match was held on WWE.com prior to the live PPV broadcast. I really should have gotten this one right. Kane ended up winning. How could I have overlooked the Big Red machine?!?!
Me: 0/1
Dave: 0/1

ECW Championship Match
Chavo Guerrero (c) vs. Raw/SmackDown/ECW Battle Royal Winner
This may have been the shortest match in WM history (and yes, I do remember King Kong Bundy's 9 second vicotry over S.D. Jones in WM1). Kane chokeslammed Chavo and got the pin.
Me: 0/2
Dave: 0/2

Triple-Threat WWE Championship Match
Randy Orton (c) vs. John Cena vs. Triple H
This match was shorter than I thought that it would have been. A lot of near finishes in this one. The end came when Trips pedigreed Cena, but had the pin broken up by Orton. Orton then instantly covered Cena for the pin to retain the title.
Me: 0/3
Dave: 0/3

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match
Edge (c) vs. The Undertaker
No surprise here. Undertaker wins and continues his streak along with getting another title run. He got Edge to submit to that arm/head scissors thing that he does. Actually, the only surprise as far as this match is concerned is that it was that it closed the show, but then I realized that Orton retaining wouldn't allow the over-the-top fireworks display to send the fans home happy.
Me: 1/4
Dave: 1/4

Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Ken Kennedy vs. Chris Jericho vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Carlito vs. MVP vs. CM Punk vs. John Morrison
A lot of good spots in this match. The biggest spot of the night was Shelton being thrown from the top of the ladder inside of the ring onto a ladder set up on the floor. MVP was about to win the match when Matt Hardy appeared out of nowhere and gave him a Twist Of Fate off of the top of the ladder. In a not so surprising finish C.M. Punk got the win. Expect to see Punk to jump to RAW to challenge for the WWE Title - ECW and Smackdown lose yet another star.
Me: 1/5
Dave: 1/5

Career Threatening Match
Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels
In another predictable match, Flair goes down in defeat. There weren't as many vintage Flair spots as I predicted although there were a few. The end came when Flair was making his way to his feet urging HBK to 'bring it on'. Shawn then mouthed "Sorry, I love You" and delivered the superkick and the pin. As Flair was urging HBK to 'bring it on' Flair was already crying. Probably because he knew that his career as an active wrestler was going to end in 10 seconds. As soon as the ref counted 3 Shawn hugged Flair's head on the while he was laying down. Flair and his family began weeping as Flair made his way to the back.
Me: 2/6
Dave: 2/6

Raw vs. SmackDown Match
Umaga vs. Batista
Batista wins. Enough said.
Me: 3/6
Dave: 3/6

BunnyMania Lumberjack Match
Ashley & Maria vs. Beth Phoenix & Melina
Maria was about to pick up the win when Santino pulled her out of the ring. Lawler then left the announce table and went after Santino. Maria was distracted enough by this to allow Beth Phoenix to get the win after a fisherman's suplex. Afterwards Snoop clotheslined Santino and him ans Maria started kissing.
Me: 3/7
Dave: 3/7

Belfast Brawl
Finlay vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield
JBL wins after a clothesline from hell.
Me: 3/8
Dave: 3/8

Big Show vs. Floyd Mayweather
I'll admit that this was a fairly entertaining match. Mayweather actually took some actual wrestling moves. He even got one of those Big Show slaps to the chest. After taking out most of Mayweather's posse Big show was met with a few chair shots from Mayweather. After Show was dazed and on one knee Mayweather took a pair of brass knuckles from one of his posse member's chain and nailed Big Show with them leading to the 10-count knockout.
Me: 4/9
Dave: 3/9

Total
I got 4/9 correct as Dave got 3/9 correct. We both stink...STINK!

Wrestlemania 24 Predictions

Raw/SmackDown/ECW 24-Man Battle Royal
Winner gets a ECW Championship shot the night against Chavo Guerrero.
Confirmed Participants:
Raw: Snitsky, Brian Kendrick, Lance Cade, Trevor Murdoch, Hardcore Holly, Cody Rhodes, Val Venis, Hacksaw Jim Duggan
SmackDown: Mark Henry, Chuck Palumbo, The Great Khali, Deuce, Domino, Jesse, Festus, Kane, Jamie Noble, Jimmy Wang Yang, Shannon Moore,
ECW: Elijah Burke, Matt Striker, The Miz, Tommy Dreamer, Kofi Kingston
I Say: Normally I go through the participants and seperate who I think has a legit chance of winning, but since this is for a chance at the ECW Title I know that it's pretty much a toss-up since the ECW Title isn't really at the caliber of the WWE or World Titles. I will say that Tommy Dreamer wins the match and goes on to face Chavito.
Dave Says: I have no idea who's even in this thing. I'll go with The Great Khali although I have no doubt he wont win. I'll just accept a loss on this one.

ECW Championship Match
Chavo Guerrero (c) vs. Raw/SmackDown/ECW Battle Royal Winner
I Say: I think that Dreamer will come close, but ultimately lose the match. If Tommy wins it will be a DQ or something like that leading to an Extreme Rules rematch down the road.
Dave Says: Ooooooh Chavo.

Triple-Threat WWE Championship Match
Randy Orton (c) vs. John Cena vs. Triple H
I Say: The WWE could put the belt on Cena as a way making Cena's comeback even bigger, but there is another comeback. Triple Haytch's. Remember last time he came back from a quad tear? He steamrolled a path to Wrestlemania on his way to the title. Trips wins. History will repeat itself just like it will in other matches. Read On...
Dave Says: Besides the Big Show gimmick match this is the main event. WrestleMania is always a bit different because you expect moretitle changes and the WWE tends to favor fan favorites. I would love to say that Randy Orton will keep the title but unfortunately he is probably the least likely to win. My gut says that John Cena will win as a reward for coming back so soon after a pec tear. It kills me to say it but I have to go with Cena.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match
Edge (c) vs. The Undertaker
I Say: It may as well be WM23 from last year because what was supposed to happen last year before 'Taker's injury will happen this year - Undertaker will win the title at WM and then have an extended run with the title as his career winds down. And besides that - Edge will not be the one to break the Wrestlemania winning streak that Undertaker has.
Dave says: Undertaker has never lost and WrestleMania and Edge won't give him his first. The easy answer is a 'Taker victory but no title change. I don't think it will be the case this year. Undertaker wins and gets the title.

Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Ken Kennedy vs. Chris Jericho vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Carlito vs. MVP vs. CM Punk vs. John Morrison
I Say: Every MITB Title shot that has been cashed in has lead to a title win. Assuming that the same will happen this year I have to eliminate Punk and Morrison first because they won't be winning a World Title in the near future (well, maybe the ECW title). MVP won't either and neither are Shelton or Carlito. MVP falls into that category too so let's forget about him. That leaves Kennedy and Jericho. Since Jericho has the IC Title right now I will give the win to Kennedy - Just like last year.
Dave Says: I'm going to go with a crazy pick. This is a guy with huge potential that the WWE has been missusing for several years now. Carlito.

Career Threatening Match
Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels
I Say: This will be the match of the night. Alot of people, like Dave, like to rag on Ric Flair and say that he has lost his ability to put on a good match and is just embarrassing himself. While that may be true to a moderate extent I think that Ric and Shawn will pull out all of the stops in this match since it will be Flair's last. I expect to see a little bit of the Flair of old and see a lot of his classic moves like the thumb to the eye, kick to the groin, Old Man Beg Off, the failed top-rope move, and the thing where he flips over the turnbuckle and runs along the apron. This match will be classic Flair. I expect Shawn to hesitate a bit before delivering the Superkick, and picking up the win. After the match, the crowd should be giving Flair a standing ovation as Flair makes his way to his feet a blubbering mess. Him and Shawn will hug as Flair salutes the crown just before soiling his diaper. Just kidding about that last part ( I hope). Also, J.R. can tease a Flair win in his blog all that he wants. Flair will lose.
Dave Says: think Ric Flair has the delusion that he still has the ability to bring the house down. Unfortunately Flair's repetoir of moves has dwindled down to about two. Flair is like the grandpa who fought in WWII. You respect him for what he's done but he's probably better off relaxing, watching TV. It's sad and Shawn is going to work like hell to make this match special but he can only do so much. I know EXACTLY what's going to happen. Shawn Michaels is going to beat Flair from pillar to post and then feel bad. The crowd will feel sorry for the old man and then he'll get a burst of energy and almost beat Shawn Michaels before going down for the three count. Shawn Michaels will win but God help us all if Flair wins. I don't think they would have inducted him this year if WrestleMania weren't his finale.

Raw vs. SmackDown Match
Umaga vs. Batista
I Say: I hope Umanga destroys Batista. He won't though. I fully expect a draw that leads to Umanga jumping to Smackdown to continue the feud. A Draw is my pick, but if there is a winner I say it's Batista. I am going t give myself credit for a correct pick if it's a draw or a Batista win.
Dave Says: Umaga time as an uber-Monster is long since over. I think SummerSlam killed his invincibility. Batista will win.

BunnyMania Lumberjack Match
Ashley & Maria vs. Beth Phoenix & Melina
I Say: Does the Diva who poses in that year's issue ever lose? Probably not. Ashley and Maria win.
(Note: Dave made his pick when Candice was still part of the match. I'm holding him to it though.)
Dave Says: Candice and Maria will win. I have nothing more to add.

Belfast Brawl
Finlay vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield
I Say: I don't have much to say about this match. I think that Hornswoggle will cost JBL the match. I pick Finlay.
Dave Says: JBL is considered a much bigger star but I can't imagine the conclusion to this feud being a victory by JBL unless they're planning on extending the feud. I was kinda sad to see the Hornswaggle McMahon angle end. I actually found it to be one of the better angles of 2007. Finaly wins.

Big Show vs. Floyd Mayweather
I Say: OK, this is the pick attraction to get non-wrestling fans involved. The WWE is trying to play this match off as if it was a legit unscripted fight. It's not. This match will be probably one of the most scripted matches in wrestling history. Mayweather is trying to act like he's risking his body in this match and that he's not concerned about his boxing career. That's a lie too. I will go with the safe pick and say that the celebrity wins. One other thing too. I give Mayweather alot of credit. He's doing a lot more than Pacman Jones did in TNA. At least Mayweather is going to take a bump or two. If Pacman had done to him what Big Show did to Mayweather when he threw him out of the ring the Titans would have a court injunction filed before he hit the ground. Also, it looks like this won't be the last that we hear of Mayweather and the WWE.
Dave Says: This is a tough one. On the one hand the celebrity never loses. On the other hand Mayweather is being
presented as a greedy arrogant jerk (or maybe he really is). It would be a very unsatisfying ending to have Mayweather win and they certainly paid him enough money to do the J-O-B. There is a good chance that there will be no decisive conclusion but if there is I see Big Show winning. I just wouldn't put much 'money' on it. Yeah Yeah

Summary:
I Picked: Dreamer, Chavito, Triple Haytch, Undertaker, Kennedy, Michaels, Draw/Batista, Maria & Ashley, Finaly, &
Mayweather.
Dave picked: Khali, Chavo, Cena, Undertaker, Carlito, Michaels, Batista, Maria & Ashley, Finaly, & Draw/Big Show.
