TNA No Surrender 2008 Predictions
Ok, real quick. Here are my picks for tonight's TNA No Surrender PPV. I haven't watched TNA in a long time and I usually skip over TNA news on the newsboards. The most exposure to TNA that I have seen has been the recent TNA video game commercial that's been running. Therefore, all of these are total guesses picked out of thin air.
Samoa Joe retains the title over Cage, Angle, & Booker T.
Taylor Wilde retains over Angelica Love
Eric Young, & Shark Boy & Curry Man over Lance Hoyt, Jimmy Rave, & Christy Hemme
Consequences Creed over Petey Williams & Bashir
Jay Lethal over Sonjay Dutt
Team 3D ovger Abyss & Matt Morgan
LAX over Beer Money Inc.
Frank Trigg over A.J. Styles
Awesome Kong over O.D.B.

A Call To Honor
I would like to publicly apologize for posting that Dave and I agreed on all of our picks for WWE's most recent PPV - Unforgiven. I accidentally posted Dave as picking Mark Henry to retain his ECW Title in ECW Scramble Match. Although Dave picked Matt Hardy, the winner of the match, in his predictions I stated, in the end of the posting, that Dave had picked Mark Henry. For this error I apologize to Dave, all of his internet followers, and the Wrestleblogger audience as a whole. I will do everything within my power to ensure that errors such as this never, ever, happen again. Again, I am very sorry.

WWE Unforgiven 2008 Results [Updated]
Triple H (c) vs. The Brian Kendrick vs. Montel Vontavious Porter vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Jeff Hardy
Nothing out of the ordinary here. What the f*ck is going on with Kendrick and his character? Note to WWE bookers - don't waste your time on trying to build this guy up. Find someone else. Ending came when Triple H got a last second pinfall to retain the title. Hardy was the champ before Trips got the pinfall (not on Hardy). Hardy looked to be going for another pin at the same time as Triple H, but the ref only counted Trips' pin. BTW, the ending sequence looked to be running a second or two behind. Due to this it looked like the ref did a fast count.
Me: 1/1
Dave: 1/1
Mark Henry (c) vs. Matt Hardy vs. The Miz vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Finlay
Hardy got a pinfall with about 2 or 3 minutes left in the match. He then spent the rest of the match breaking up pins and became the new ECW champion. In hindsight the ECW Title isn't really considered a 'major title' so I probably could have gotten this right. Oh well.
Me: 1/2
Dave: 2/2
Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels
Match of the night. Michaels was very methodical sadistic. Cade came down in the middle of the match, but HBK ended up putting them both through an announce table. Michaels then starts whipping Jericho with a belt and eventually just pounds Jericho in the face until Jericho is unconscious. Then Michaels beats Jericho even more. The ref eventually calls for the bell, but Michaels doesn't care. Michaels eventually separates from Jericho and looks torn between whether to attack Jericho more or show mercy.
Me: 2/3
Dave: 3/3
Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase (c) vs. Cryme Tyme (JTG and Shad Gaspard)
Rhodes and DiBiase retain after DiBiase reversed a small package that JTG had Rhodes in with the ref's back turned. After the match DiBiase and Rhodes celebrate and taunt CT. CT then attack them and Rhodes and DiBiase are rescued by Afa Jr. I suppose the WWE is starting to forma 2nd generation stable with the three of them as Orton's running buddies.
Me: 2/4
Dave: 3/4
Michelle McCool (c) vs. Maryse
McCool wins.
Me: 3/5
Dave: 4/5
CM Punk (c) vs. Batista vs. Kane vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs. Rey Mysterio
Earlier in the night Punk or Orton are backstage (I forgot which one was being interviewed) and the other interrupts. Eventually DiBiase, Rhodes, and Afa Jr. attack Punk and the attack in punctuated by Orton's Legend Killer Kick to the head of Punk. Adamle comes out later and says that in the event that Punk is unable to wrestle a suitable replacement will be found. On the scramble - All 4 challengers eventually enter the match and when it's time for Punk to come out Jericho's music hits and he comes stumbling out showing major signs of his match with HBK. Jericho is quickly incapacitated as a result of not being able to defend himself. Batista gets a pinfall on Kane with about 10 seconds left. After Batsista stands back up Rey goes for a West Coast Pop, but as Batista tried to resist it Jericho crawls in the match and covers a still down Kane. Match ends, Batista appears to think he has won, then realizes that Jericho got a pinfall and stands there (Batista) with a shocked look on his face. Jericho is the new World Heavyweight Champion.
Me: 3/5
Dave: 4/5
I'm a little curious as to why they put the title on Jericho (I'm not complaining though). It looked as if the Y2J/HBK feud is going to continue & the feud is so intense that I didn't think that a title in the mix would be needed. Also, Having Jericho even being able to walk after the beating that he received kind of diminished the actual beating and maked HBK look a little bit week. We'll have to see what happens on RAW. I am also confused as to why Punk was taken out of the match. Did they need for him to drop the title without actually losing a match? Did they not want him to have it for his upcoming feud with Orton so when Orton beats him Orton won't get the title back as punishment for prolonging his time off with the motorcycle crash?
Also, I won't go into the details, but Big Show turned heel and attacked the Undertaker.
Update: Yes, Dave got more predictions correct. I submitted the inferior set if pick. Sit Down Mysterious J! Sit Down!

WWE Unforgiven 2008 Predictions [Updated]
Before I start let me say that I do think that there will be multiple pinfalls in the Scrambles and not just one.
CM Punk (c) vs. Batista vs. Kane vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs. Rey Mysterio
Dave Says: For some reason I have this feeling they intend to keep the title on CM Punk for now. CM Punk wins.
I Say: I really don't understand what the WWE is trying to do with Punk. It's almost like they said 'Let's put the title on him for a couple of months, but then we have to make sure that we treat him like a mid-level guy who probably doesn't deserve the title.'. I am a little tired of the same thing week after week with JBL coming out and saying that Punk's reign is a fluke and that he (JBL) is going to take the title. Meanwhile, how many title shots against Punk has JBL had and lost? Ok - Let's just get to the part where I go through the guys one by one and rate their chances of victory. JBL - Not now. Kane or Rey? I don't see their feud invloving the title so count them out. That leaves Punk and Batista. I am confident that one of these two are going to walk out with the title. I really want to say that Batista will win the title since the WWE seems so set on putting Punk's reign down, but I will go with Punk for another PPV cycle.
Triple H (c) vs. The Brian Kendrick vs. Montel Vontavious Porter vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Jeff Hardy
Dave Says: I assume this is for the title. Triple H wins.
I Say: I keep reading about how Smackdown is now considered by some to be WWE's top brand. To those people I say - Eat some ass. One would assume that these scramble matches are made up of the brands' top guys. MVP & Shelton are US/IC Title guys at best (right now). Kendrick is still a nothing to me right now. As for Hardy - he is probably the top challenger in the match to Triple H's title although he is still mostly in the US/IC Title ranks still (with one foot in the WWE Title picture). Triple H will walk out with the title. He is NOT going to drop the industry's top title to any of the other 4 in this match. I wouldn't be surprised to see Triple H get all the pinfalls in this match.
Mark Henry (c) vs. Matt Hardy vs. The Miz vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Finlay
Dave Says: Jesus, you got to be kidding. I'll be lucky if I get two correct this time. I'll go with Matt Hardy.
I Say: My pick is Henry, but Hardy has a strong shot. Chavo does as well, but not as strong as Henry or Hardy.
Michelle McCool (c) vs. Maryse
Dave Says: McCool because I've never heard of Maryse.
I Say: McCool wins. Ya know why? She's boinking the Undertaker.
Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase (c) vs. Cryme Tyme (JTG and Shad Gaspard)
Dave Says: I'm quickly losing interest in the PPV. I'll go with Cryme Tyme only to squeeze in a title change.
I Say: This is one of the hardest matches to pick. The WWE obviously wants to build Rhodes and DiBiase up, but it really looks like CT are going to get their title shot. I'll say CT gets their first title run.
Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels
Dave Says: This is Shawn Michaels revenge. I expect a bloody battle.
I Say: This is the hardest match to pick. It would have been easier if HBK didn't tear his tricep on RAW. If HBK was healthy I would have said that HBK would get his revenge, but seeing as how he will need to take some time off after the match I want to say that they can't have him win and then disappear for a month or so, but on the other hand the WWE (who has already acknowledged the injury) could have him beat Y2J and the go away leaving Jericho fuming and demanding another match with him. I will say that HBK does in fact win. BTW, whatever happens in this match - it WILL be the match of the night and These two will outwork everyone else on the PPV (except maybe Triple H and Jeff Hardy).
It looks like Dave and I agreed on all of the matches. Therefore I am predicting that we will tie.
Update: I misread Dave's prediction for the ECW Scramble. He picked Matt Hardy and I picked Mark Henry. We, in fact, did not agree on all of our pick. Sorry for the the mistake. Believe me, Dave notified me of the error and therefore I am correcting the mistake.
