WWE Survivor Series Results
Let's take a look at how things went down...Survivor Series Match
Ric Flair, Sgt. Slaughter, Dusty Rhodes, & Ron Simmons (w/Double A) vs.Spirit Squad (w/Mitch)
Ron Simmons got counted out almost immediately after the match started. It all came down to Flair versus three members of the S. Squad. He found a way to win though. After the match all 5 members of the S. Squad worked Flair over. I was once again wrong about the S. Squad breaking up. They didn't.

US Title Match
Chris Benoit (c) v. Chavo
Nothing out of the ordinary. Chavo tapped out to the Crossface.
Me: 1/2
David: 2/2
Women's Title Match
Lita (c) v. Mickie James
A great match as far as women's matches go. Mickie wins following a Mickie-D-T. After the match Lita ripped into the crowd. Cryme Tyme then came out and was selling some things that they stole from Lita's lockerroom earlier in the night. They sold a bra, a pair of panties, a tube of yeast infection medicine, and a vibrator.

David: 3/3
Survivor Series Match
John Cena, Kane, Bobby Lashley, Sabu, & Rob Van Dam vs. Big Show, Test, Montel Vontavious Porter, Finlay, & Umaga
Umaga got DQ'd almost as soon as the match began when he used a monitor as a weapon. He also seemed to flip-out when Cena's music started playing during the intros. MVP's ring gear is so stupid looking. It's killing what could be a (mildly) successful gimmick. The real Ex-Soldier and the wannabe Soldier won after an F-U on Big Show.
Me: 3/4
David: 4/4
Survivor Series Match
Triple H, Shawn Michaels, C.M. Punk, Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy vs. Edge, Randy Orton, Johnny Nitro, Mike Knox, Gregory Helms
Almost all of the match was Team DX on the offense. No surprise here. Everyone on Team DX survived.

First Blood
Undertaker v. Kennedy
When Undertaker was announced an old woman came strolling out of the back. At first I thought that it was Undertaker's mother, but I soon realized that it was Undertaker himself (That joke never gets old). It's a good thing I changed my pick earlier this weekend because Kennedy won. Kennedy's mouth was busted open during the match, but the ref didn't see it. MVP came down to help Kennedy, but turned on him instead as payback for something Kennedy did on Smackdown. They are both still heels though. MVP tried hitting Kennedy with a chair, but hit 'Taker instead. Undertaker clearly blocked the shot with his hands and clearly wasn't busted open. They then went to a camera shot of MVP and when they showed 'Taker again his face was covered in blood and he could clearly be seen putting his blade back into his waistband. The ref saw the blood and declared Kennedy the winner. Taker then attacked Kennedy. He was punching Kennedy who was leaning back into the corner and Kennedy was clearly seen taking a blade out of his wristband/waistband (his hands were down in front of him near his waist. 'Taker then hit him with a chair and Kennedy was busted wide open.

World Title Match
King Booker (c) v. Batista
Prior to the match Teddy Long (whose face would look great on that dolla dolla bill) announced the if if Batista lost he would never get another title shot against Booker and that if Booker got counted-out or DQ'd he would lose the belt. As expected Batista got the win and the title. The ref was distracted by Sharmell and Booker tried hitting Batista with the belt. Batista dodged it, got the belt away from him, and hit Booker with it to get the pin.
Me: 6/7
David: 5/7
Totals: Perfect picks have somehow eluded me yet again. I got 6/7. David made a strong showing with 5/7.
See you in a week for ECW December to Dismember...

WWE Survivor Series Predictions [Updated]
It's once again time for the fall spectacular, Survivor Series! It looks like David has decided to rejoin the Wrestleblogger team after 'losing his smile'. Did he find his smile? Maybe, but who really gives a shit? The important thing is that he decided to 'nut up' and do some picks. Hopefully he won't lose his smile again during the upcoming week and he'll be willing to do picks for ECW's December to Dismember. He was almost not going to contribute his picks this time. He claims that he had them all typed up, but his e.mail locked up and lost his picks. (Waah! Waah!) After that happened he wasn't going to redo his picks, but decided that he would, but without explaining his thinking behind each prediction. Instead of picking who will survive we will instead just pick which team will be the last left standing.Survivor Series Match
Triple H, Shawn Michaels, C.M. Punk, Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy vs. Edge, Randy Orton, Johnny Nitro, Mike Knox, Gregory Helms
I Say: First off I find it amazing that Jeff Hardy can still walk after that Swanton spot from his ladder match on Monday. Speaking of that match, Nitro really raised his game a lot with that match along with his pre-match promo. As for this match I really have to pick Team DX to win since Rated RKO got over on them at Cyber Sunday. Also, there is no way that I can pick a team with Mike Knox and Gregory Helms to win.
David Says: Team Rated RKOSurvivor Series Match
John Cena, Kane, Bobby Lashley, Sabu, & Rob Van Dam vs. Big Show, Test, Montel Vontavious Porter, Finlay, & Umaga
I Say: With the exception of Umaga Big Show's whole team is a joke. Show's can barely move, MVP looks rediculous, Finlay is little more than a jobber in my opinion, and Test is...well, Test. Cena's whole team is top-level guys so I have to pick them to win. Look for Lashley to come out looking strong leading into December to Dismember.
David Says: Team CenaSurvivor Series Match
Ric Flair, Sgt. Slaughter, Dusty Rhodes, & Ron Simmons (w/Double A) vs.Spirit Squad (w/Mitch)
I Say: I think that Simmons being put into the match was a poor decision. I would have gone with Jimmy Snuka or someone like that. I've said this numerous times before, but this time I am more certain than ever - The Spirit Squad will break up during this match. Or at least Kenny will break off from the others. If they break I can't see them all staying on the main roster. Kenny will likely stay. Mikey and Johhny to a lesser extent have a good chance of staying. Mitch and Nick will likely be sent back down to OVW or Deep South if not released. My pick to win is the team whose combined age is over 200 years old; Team Geezer.
David Says: Team FlairUS Title Match
Chris Benoit (c) v. Chavo
I Say: I have to pick Chavo to win. I don't see him getting the belt so it'll probably be by DQ or something. God, I hope Rey doesn't show up. Speaking of Rey, he looked completely stupid during that video they showed on Smackdown. Who the hell gets knee surgery while wearing a luchador mask? I'm sure WWE was behind it though.
David Says: Benoit wins.World Title Match
King Booker (c) v. Batista
I Say: I'm sure that the WWE feels that Batista has re-proven himself since coming back from his injury enough to get the belt back. Therefore I am picking Batista to win. I'm sure we haven't seen the last of these 2 in a World Title match.
David Says: BatistaWomen's Title Match
Lita (c) v. Mickie James
Updated:
I Say: Lita was right when she said that she gave women's wrestling credibility, but maybe not as much as she claimed. I see a slim chance that she could win the match and retire with the belt like Trish, but I have to pick Mickie to regain the belt. After some thought I think that there may be a chance that Trish Stratus may make a return for one night to cost Lita the match and help Mickie win.
David Says: Mickie JamesFirst Blood
Undertaker v. Kennedy
Updated:
I Say: I originally picked Undertaker to win, but I've changed my mind. I am going to pick Kennedy to win here. Yeah, I know that it's one of the WWE's main PPVs, but I think that Undertaker will do the right thing and put Kennedy over.
David Says: Undertaker.Summary:
I picked: Team DX, Team Cena, Team Flair, Chavo, Batista, Mickie James, & Kennedy
David picked: Team Rated RKO, Team Cena, Team Flair, Benoit, Batista, Mickie James, & UndertakerFinal Thoughts: I am pretty sure that people will be eliminated very quickly and easily. That kind of stuff always happens @ Survivor Series. Also, The WWE has been hyping the fact that they are going back to a more traditional Survivor Series format with the 3 team matches. I wish that they would have gone all the way and have a final match where the surviving faces take on the surviving heels, but I'm sure that DX would end up winning that match as well.wrestleblogger@yahoo.com
Annoying Wrestlers & Some Thoughts on TNA
Throughout my life watching wrestling there have been a handful of wrestlers who I just can't stand when it comes to cutting promos. You have guys like Piper and Savage (WCW days). Then you have Konnan and guys like John Cena. The list can go on and on. It looks like WWE has signed another one of them. Monty Brown. This guys is one of the most annoying wrestlers of the 'modern era'. Granted that I haven't seen a whole lot of this guys since he was in TNA, but I have seen enough of him to know that I can't stand him. He is one of those guys who takes himself way too seriously. I sometimes read on the wrestling newsboards that a particular wrestler is not on TV or has been released because the creative team doesn't have any storyline for him or her. I am praying that creative has no storyline ideas for Monty Brown. That's enough about that.On to something else.I'm confused. A few weeks ago I read about how B.G. James (Road Dogg) and Kip James (Billy Gunn) quit TNA (storyline-wise) because of the way they were being treated. The next thing I know TNA gets their Connecticut house show cancelled after city officials refuse to let the show take place due to the proper permits not being obtained. This leads to allegations that Vince McMahon was behind the whole thing. City officials later squash those rumors and in the process claim that they don't even know who Vince McMahon is. After this situation with the cancelled house show TNA posts a video on their website of the James' across the street from WWE headquarters in some sort of rip-off of when DX invaded WCW in Virginia. Weren't these guys supposed to have quit TNA? Why were they shooting videos for TNA's website? Now I am watching the tape of TNA's primetime debut on TNA and the James' calling themselves VoodooKinMafia (or VKM for short) appear and declare war on Paul LaVesque/Triple Hollywood (Triple H), Michael Hickenbottom/Michael KissMyBottom (Shawn Michaels), and Vince K McMahon. Why? I'm not really sure. They claim that years ago HHH and HBK refused to let them join DX only to change their minds and let the Outlaws bail them out by letting them join DX (Nevermind the fact that The Outlaws and HBK were never in DX at the same time) and now HHH and HBK have reformed DX. They are also claiming that DX is a sinking ship. That's it. That's why they are declaring war. You don't get it? Neither do I. This is obviously an attempt by TNA to get WWE to acknowledge them. It's the same thing that WWE did with those Billionaire Ted skits and WWE is not going to fall for it. This new VKM is little more than a takeoff of DX just like DX was a takeoff of the NWO. TNA thinks that since they are now in primetime that they have now become a major promotion. I have news for them. They're not. They are still the minor leagues. Their ratings may go up a bit since they are on 2 hours earlier then they were, but they still will be lucky if Impact get's 1/4th the rating that RAW does. Their buyrates will still be a fifth of what WWE considers a bad buyrate. They will still be running shows in 2000 seat venues while WWE runs in major arenas (although they don't sell out very often). They will still be running 5-6 dates per month when WWE runs 20. They will still be giving away free tickets to PPVs and TV tapings while WWE will go on making million dollar gates like they just did when they topped the $4 million for WM23 ticket sales. Their wrestlers' public appearences will still be little more than the SpikeTV booth at comic conventions while wrestlers like John Cena are on Conan O'Brien and MTV. Back to VKM for a second though. I'm inclined to think that WWE and DX may make the mistake of lending these guys credibility by perhaps retaliating, but I wouldnn't. I would just ignore it. It's not worth the time. One last thing. If anyone out there doesn't think that Sting is just in TNA for the huge payday and that he still has a passion for the business, this will change your mind. At the last PPV Sting was taking on Jeff Jarrett for the TNA title in a match that was billed as the biggest match in TNA history (a moniker that a lot of TNA main events are given). You would think that Sting would at least know the details of the match going in. Well, at least 2 weeks prior to the match it was announced that Kurt Angle would be the guest referee. Sting showed up to the building with no clue that Angle woule have involvement in the match. He also showed up to the arena after forgetting his facepaint. TNA staff had to find an audience member who had his face painted like ICP and ask to borrow his makeup. I am not even kidding about this. Facepaint is his whole identity. It's like Superman forgetting his cape or Barry Bonds forgetting to bring his bat to the plate.wrestleblogger@yahoo.com
WWE RAW 11.13.2006 - News & Notes
Why did they advertise RAW as being live when it was really taped?
I was very surprised that they didn't have a video or anything acknowledging the 1-year anniversary of Eddie Guerreo's passing.
What the hell does Richard Nixon have to do with DX? Somebody please let me know.
Once again, DX and their storyline takes up the entire show. And I mean the ENTIRE SHOW! Beginning to End.
Eugene as a retarded heel? That doesn't work. Neither does a heel Todd Grisham.
The blunders of the people trying to capture the bounty on DX were ridiculous, not to mention totally phony looking and set-up.
The video recap of all of the blunders looked like a video from Benny Hill.
No Farooq this week? Damn!
Did Cena just end Umaga's undefeated streak? I hope that he didn't and that the ref threw the match out instead. It was nice to see Cena get laid out though.
I wouldn't be surprised if WWE piped-in cheers for Cena. Especially considering that the crowd was reportedly very anti-Cena during a video featuring him shown prior to the tapings.
I hope I'm not jinxing it, but it looks like we're done seeing clips from The Marine.
Jeff Hardy v. Nitro AGAIN?!? How many times is that now? And there's another match next week too!
How many times are they going to trade the IC Title back and forth? Talk about killing a title's credibility.
Why no Bischoff this week?
I understand that the whole interaction between DX and Cryme Tyme was supposed to be a spoof on the movie Airplane! , but it was still pretty 'wack'. Hey, I guess I speak Jive too now!
It looks like I was right when I said that if Flair and his partner won the Tag Titles @ Cyber Sunday that they would only have them for a week. I'm sure that the whole title loss just serves as a way to eventually get the titles on DX.

WWE Cyber Sunday Results
Overall the PPV matches were fair. Nothing horrible, but in no way good. Therefore, I'm not going to go into all that much detail. Let's see how I did.
Champion of Champions Match - Fans pick which title is on the line.
WWE Champion John Cena v. World Champion KIng Booker v. ECW Champion Big Show
As I predicted, the person holding the belt that was voted to be up for grabs won. It wasn't Big Show though. It was Booker. Cena F-U'd Sharmell after she got into the ring and as the ref was tending to her Cena got Booker in the STFU. K-Fed then came down and nailed Cena in the back with the belt. After Cena chased K-Fed out of the ring Booker hit Cena with the belt and the pin.
Intercontinental Championship
Jeff Hardy v. Carlito or Nitro or Shelton
I was right again. It was Carlito and the match was lame. Hardy retains the IC Title.
Tag Team Titles
S. Squad v. Ric Flair & Sgt. Slaughter or Roddy Piper or Dusty Rhodes
Piper won the votes, but Slaughter and Rhodes were at ringside to counter the rest of the S. Squad. Piper looked horrible. He was fat and pale. I have never seen Piper is such horrible shape. He looked homeless & pregnant. Flair got Mikey to tap-out the Figure 4. Flair and Piper are the new champs. After the match all 4 geezers battled the S. Squad.
4-Way Tag Team Match - Fans pick Fatal 4-Way or Tag Team Turmoil or Texas Tornado
Cryme Tyme v. Highlanders v. Haas & Viscera v. Cade & Murdoch
Texas Tornado won the votes and Cryme Tyme won the match. Just as I said. After the match Cryme Tyme stole Lawler's laptop from ringside.
Women's Championship Title Tourney Finals - Fans pick No DQ match or Diva Lumberjack or Submission Match
Mickie v. Lita
I was wrong about Mickie winning. I was surprised that Lita won since she is reported to be on her way out of the WWE shortly. Maybe this was a way to give her one last title run. The match was a Lumberjack Match which included RAW, Smackdown, ECW, and recently signed Diva Search finalists. It should be noted that Ariel's new implants are absolutely HUGE.
Umaga v. Kane or Benoit or Sandman
Kane got the fan's votes (Please note that earlier in the weekend that I changed my prediction from Benoit to Kane). The match was exactly the same as the other dozen times that these two fought each other. Same result too. Umaga won, but not a squash. No Khali.
DX v. Edge & Randy Orton - Fans pick guest referee: Mr. McMahon or Coach or Eric Bischoff
Prior to the match Shawn was backstage telling HHH that he (HBK) was controversial which made it obvious that Bischoff would win the voting. He did. After getting speared by accident. A new ref came down. Bischoff later pulled him out and later would count the 1-2-3 after Orton hit HHH with an RKO on a chair. I think there is going to be a DX/Bischoff fued starting on RAW.
Summary:
I got 5/7 fan votes right and 4/7 results right for a total of 9/14. Not bad if I must say. I also must say...I WIN. See you at Survivor Series (maybe).

WWE Cyber Sunday Prediction [Updated]
It looks like I'm the only one making predictions this time around. It seems that David has decided that he doesn't feel like making predictions this time. Could he be down in the dumps because I, the mysterious J, have decided to put the Raw News & Notes columns on hold for the time being? Or could it be because I got some of the records on his girlfriend's Nintendo DS game? Or maybe he 'lost his smile' after a scheduling problem at the doctor's office. The smart money says that he's feeling blue about me dominating him with my vastly superior knowledge of all things Superman. Whatever the reason is all I have is one thing to say. I WIN! All I have to do is get 1 prediction correct and I will be declared the winner. I'm a little surprised that with all of this talk of the fans voting on the matches and the upcoming elections that the WWE didn't hype up their Smackdown Your Vote Campaign.
This time each match consists of 2 predictions. One for what the 'fans' pick and one for who wins the match. I put fans in quotes because everybody knows full well that most of the voting will be rigged.
On to the matches...
Champion of Champions Match - Fans pick which title is on the line.
WWE Champion John Cena v. World Champion KIng Booker v. ECW Champion Big Show
I don't really see any champion losing his belt. Therefore, whomever's belt is on the line will win the match. Unless there is a DQ or something like that. I'm going to pick Big Show's Title to be on the line since he is the least over champion and pick him to win too.
Intercontinental Championship
Jeff Hardy v. Carlito or Nitro or Shelton
Since the fans are voting they are likely to pick Carlito since he's the only face. A face v. face match would be a little lame though. I pick him anyways, but Hady will retain.
Tag Team Titles
S. Squad v. Ric Flair & Sgt. Slaughter or Roddy Piper or Dusty Rhodes
If Flair and his partner win the titles it will only be for a week or two at the very most. I don't know why these three are his possible partners. It's never a good sign when the combined age of a team is guaranteed to be over the century mark. In fact, the combined age of Flair and whomever his partner turns out to be is pretty close to the combined age of all 5 members of the S. Squad. Of Flair and that's no joke. and his potential partners none of the men look to be in ring shape. Flair has no history with Slaughter and he has never been anything but an enemy to Dusty and Piper (storyline-wise). I really want to pick Dusty to win the vote since I want to see if he can still go 5 minutes in the ring, but I'll have to pick Piper. I'm also predicting that whomever wins the fan voting will wrestle in a shirt. I always think that the S. Squad will drop the titles and I'm always wrong. I'll pick the S. Squad to lose, but most likely by DQ so they keep the straps.
4-Way Tag Team Match - Fans pick Fatal 4-Way or Tag Team Turmoil or Texas Tornado
Cryme Tyme v. Highlanders v. Haas & Viscera v. Cade & Murdoch
I'll make this short - Texas Tornado is my pick for the match since it has the most action (assuming the fans realize what all 3 possibilities consist of) and Cryme Tyme will win (Yo, Yo, Yo. It's time to pop a shorty and check your rolly). I see a small chance of the Highlanders winning, but their stock has fallen a lot. The Redneck Wrecking Crew looked to be getting a push, but elevating a heel team wouldn't make much sense since the winner of this match will likely feud for the Tag Titles. This is all assuming that the S. Squad retains their belts.
Women's Championship Title Tourney Finals - Fans pick No DQ match or Diva Lumberjack or Submission Match
Mickie v. Lita
No matter what kind of match it is Mickie is going to win. The fans will pick a Diva Lumberjack match because the fans will want to see all of the Divas at ringside. It's that simple.
Umaga v. Kane or Benoit or Sandman
Umaga will win no matter who he faces. He just feuded with Kane so I am inclined to pick him, but I won't. Benoit just came back and is a huge fan favorite although I am not sure that the fans will want to see him put in the path of the monster Umaga. I'll pick him anyways. Look for an Umaga win by DQ when he is attcked by ECW's newest Superstar, Great Khali. I'm not too sure that an Umaga face turn would be the best route to take though.
Update: I am changing my pick on this match. I am now going to choose Kane to get voted into the match instead of Benoit. I am still picking Umaga to win though. I also still see the chance that Khali will get involved.
DX v. Edge & Randy Orton - Fans pick guest referee: Mr. McMahon or Coach or Eric Bischoff
Predicting the fans pick is difficult. DX is still over with the fans so it would make sense that the fans would pick Coach for the fact that he is the weakest of the three choices, so that's my pick. I really want DX to lose, but we all know that they never seem to lose. I'll go with the longshot though and pick Rated RKO to pick up the win. It won't be clean though. I'm sure that the two men who don't win the vote will get involved somehow. I see the possibility that if Vince doesn't win the vote he will claim that he can override the fans decision since he is the chairman and make himself the referee. If this scenario takes place after Bischoff wins the vote I think that there is a chance that he may turn face and cause DX to win. I say this because there has been a lot of brainstorming backstage for a storyline to keep Bischoff on TV. Bischoff has been talking a lot about how DX is nothing more than an extension/rip-off the nWo and this way he can re-join the nWo in a sense leading to a DX & Bischoff v. Rated RKO & Vince match @ S. Series. Yeah, it's a real longshot, but I thought that I would throw the idea out there.
My Picks:
ECW Title / Big Show
Carlito / Hardy
Piper / S. Squad
Texas Tornado / Cryme Tyme
Diva Lumberjack Match / Mickie
Kane / Umaga
Coach / Edge & Orton
