Smackdown Thoughts
There is a lot of speculation around the Internet that Randy Orton may never step foot inside of a WWE ring again. People who claim to be 'in the know' are reporting that Orton's 60 day suspension is in fact really an indefinite suspension and that there is a strong chance that the WWE will just let his contract run out while Orton just sits home. Normally with a superstar of Orton's caliber the WWE wouldn't want to take the chance of allowing him to show up in TNA, but their rationale behind allowing Orton's contact to expire is the hope that he will be off of TV for so long that his star power would be close to nothing. Up until the incident that got Orton suspended he was one of WWE's best young stars. For that reason I am led to believe that he probably has multiple years left on his contract and allowing him to just sit out his contract would be a huge waste of talent. Therefore, I am going on record by saying that Orton will be back. I don't see any possible way that the WWE will just let his contract run out. By the way, I was correct when I suggested that the WWE would use an injury angle to explain his on-screen absence. Kurt Angle 'broke' his ankle during their match on Smackdown.
Last week I stated that I hoped that Dalip Singh (who is now known as the Great Khali) wouldn't end up being the next Giant Gonzalez. After seeing this week's Smackdown I think that he will be. I really don't see him having very much of a future in the WWE after his feud with the Undertaker. I just don't see it. When he was on Smackdown this past week he got tried to talk on the microphone and I can honestly say that it was one of the worst things that I have seen in a long time. It's almost as if he can't even speak. It sounding like growling. The only thing I could understand is when he said his name and that was only because I figured that at some point that he might say his own name.
It looks like that they might be using the whole 'king' gimmick for the winner of the king of the ring tournament on Smackdown. They brought out a cheesy looking throne, cape, crown, and septor. I just think that using those things is really stupid. That's all.
Booker T and Sharmell have been playing up the fact that they have gotten a restraining order against Boogeyman. I predict that on the upcoming tour through Canada that Boogeyman will start playing his mind games with Booker T again under the premise that the restraining order is only valid in the U.S.
