Raw 6.12.2006 - News & Notes

• Paul E. started off Raw by announcing that since the RVD v. Cena match @ 1NS was fought under ECW rules that anything goes - even Paul E. counting the pinfall. Therefore RVD is recognized as the new WWE champion and the title will be rechristened the ECW World Title @ ECW TV on Tuesday. He also announced that RVD will defend the title against Edge @ Vengeance and that Edge is invited to ECW TV on Tuesday.
• Orton & Kane fought to a double-countout. After the match the fake Kane came out and knocked Kane off of the stage.
• Charlie Haas apologized to Lillian for knocking her off of the ring last week. Vis came out and beat down Haas even though Lillian accepted Haas' apology. It looks like they are turning the accident into an angle for Haas.
• Vince gave his State of the WWE address. He then said that Triple H will have to pay for what he did last week in the form of a 5-on-1 gauntlet match against the S. Squad.
• Torrie defeated Candice in a Wet-N-Wild match by pinfall and therefore will be on the cover of this summer's divas magazine.
• There was no decision in the HHH v. S. Squad gauntlet match. Shawn Michaels came down and helped HHH fight them. They then officially reformed DX by giving Vince double DX crotch chops. Triple H also mooned him. Afterwards Vince announced that at Vengeance it would be the S. Squad v. DX.
• Hacksaw w/Eugene was defeated by Umaga.
• Foley cut a promo saying that the cuddly Mick Foley was back. Ric Flair (fresh off of his honeymoon) interrupted and said that he doesn't care about what happened @ 1NS and wanted to tell Foley that he is a glorified stuntman. Flair told him that while real wrestlers like HBK, HHH, Undertaker, Rock, and Austin were busting their asses to make a legacy for themselves Foley was making a name for himself by falling off cages. He then challenged Foley to a match right there. Foley declined but said that since Flair didn't consider him to be a real wrestler that he would he would outwrestle him in a 2-of-3 falls match at Vengeance.
• Nitro defeated Carlito with Shelton's help.
• Randy Orton said that since he fought Angle in ECW that Angle should fight him in the WWE at Vengeance.
• John Cena beat Edge by DQ when Lita interfered. Stevie Richards, Justin Credible, and Balls Mahoney were all sitting ringside. After the match Cena started fighting with them and then laid them out with chairshots. He then got on the mic and said that since he learned last night that anyone can show up in ECW and do anything that he was going to go to ECW TV Tuesday night.

**On a side note - Since it looks like the WWE is recognizing RVD as the WWE Champion I am changing the decision to throw out the WWE Title match @ ECW 1NS. Therefore David had more predictions right with 4/6 against my 3/6.
